I had been getting a lot of request to post the chords of Pehli Nazar Mein from the movie Race. The only reason why I had not posted it yet was because I didn’t have the time to do it. I like to hear this song more than playing it on guitar but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth playing. The good thing about Atif Aslam songs are that they are usually based on open chords and so are easier for newbies. But this song has one barre chord as well. So here goes…
The strumming pattern of this song can be done in two ways: One is the traditional Papa Kehte Hai style but I don’t think it would appeal to many. So the alternative is:
| D - | D - | DDU- | DUDU |
which sounds more like original.
The basic chord pattern of this song according to me is
A - E - F#m - E
upon which the whole song seems to be developed.
The usual A, E and F#m (222442) only. No more!
If the F#m chord is modified slightly to get (224422), you get the most important chord of the song Kholo Kholo from Taare Zameen Par. I love to locate connections!
Before delving into the chords there is a riff played in the background which needs to be mentioned.
E------------------------------------- B---10-----9----9---7------7---9---10- G---11----------9---7------7---9---11- D-------11---------------------------- A------------------------------------- E-------------------------------------
Practice the above riff to make it sound perfect. This is played most of the time and also in the absence of vocals.

I checked your chords. You have got them correct but the order is not. I think and this is how I play this song:
Pehli nazar mein tune kaisa jadu kiya
F#m E C#m D
Tera ban baitha hein mera jiya
F#m E C#m Bm
check this out and let me know and i will give you the whole thing.
Cheers Bro.

I tried your chord sequence as well but I don’t think they are correct. If you listen to the song closely you will realize that same chords are played at the end of the first two lines. But you have suggested D and Bm. Moreover they do not fit according to me. The place where you have suggested C#m has to be F#m coz it sounds more appropriate. Try it out again and tell me…
Here’s a hint… try to play the chords along with that part of the song where the “Baby I Love You…” line ends.. then you will quickly realize it!
Enjoy!
